Day 4
Beautiful Monument Valley at sunrise. We all get up without much sleep to capture the sunrise.
We head to the visitors center.
Adam is setting up, Dan is setting on the stone wall.
When all of a sudden He drops... He passed out...
He fell right on his face. Someone calls 911... we are in the middle of Nowhere, the ambulance took about 30 or more minutes to get there.
He did have a seizure while on the ground...
I prayed sitting next to him on the ground. He is white as a ghost. G-d is in control. I think I am in shock.
Tw people stayed by our side and helped us till the ambulance got there. Lim, and a beautiful young lady. To them I will always be grateful.
The Ambulance takes him to Blue Mountain Hospital in Utah. An hour away.
No one is allowed in the Ambulance. Adam and I pack up the room, and head there too.
As we head to the hospital we had to stop and take some photos of the "Forest Gump" spot. We looked at each other uncomfortable..... then said... Dan would want us to get this picture... we we talking about it last night while getting eclipse photos
We saw the ambulance as we got to the hospital, we talked to the EMTS, they said Dan had another seizure in the ambulance.
Omgosh, not what we wanted to hear
Altitude sickness, dehydration, exhaustion. The seizure was caused be the hit to the head...
(He has been fine since we got out of the hospital)
They did a CT Scan on his head.
All tests came back great.
All his blood work came back great.
He has a big gash on his forehead.
They hydrated him, made him get up and walk around.. eat a little.
He is discharged... He is super fatigued. We head to Durango Colorado.
We find a nice hotel and we all chill for the rest of the day.
Thanking G-d that it wasn't worse.. but, still keeping a watchful eye on Dan.
Till Tomorrow...
Good night, I am pretty exhaused too.
So glad it wasn’t anything more serious.
