count down

 So, here we go..... in 24 hours from now we will be in the air. Heading to Arizona! It seems like yesterday when I was at South Creek Parking lot, there was a meteor shower. Didn't want to head out too far, stayed close to home. Not great dark skies, but, I needed to get out under the stars and feel small. 

May 5th 2021.... I don't know what is going on with Adam.... All I know is that it is serious, we just don't have a name for it. 

So, standing out under the stars.... by myself.... except for G-d.... He and I, we were going to have a little talk.   

Years ago, I held Adam up and Gave him to G-d... I have done that with both of my kids.  

Thank you G-d for letting me care for these gifts from you while here on earth. But, ultimately they are Yours.... I give them back to You.  

That night as I felt small, and G-d felt so BIG... I once again with a mothers heart cried out to Him who made the stars. 

"G-d, my hearts desire is to show your beauty to Adam and Dan... I named off places.... The Grand Canyon, Page, Az, and Monument Valley!...."

Tomorrow we head out... 

On an adventure... I don't know what we will find, not really searching.... rather I feel like I am sharing. Sharing something that has touched my heart in a special way. Exploring the wonders of nature. The Beauty That Surrounds us. 


The funny thing is, this desire of mine.... He who created me, put this desire within my heart. 

As my friend Cheryl knows. The Beauty of Nature touches my heart, bringing me to tears.  I have tears of expectation now.

Part II Day 7 & 8

 We take a slow ride from Abilene to Amarillo Texas. I call it abandoned house searching.  ww did make a stop at CapRock Canyon too.  How beautiful it is here.   As we are exiting the park we get to see some Buffalo!   The cactus are in bloom too! It takes us quite while to go from Abilene to Amarillo.  But, that is ok, we have a lot of fun taking photos.   The next day we go from Amarillo to Denver. We drive straight though with one very cool stop at It looks like the Badlands  It is pretty warm out, we all enjoy the formations and walking around here.  Next stop Denver... we're going to the same hotel we started in. They have a salt water pool.  We can't wait!   We have dinner first...  so excited about the pool.  We get back and change.  I get this from Dan....  ...

Day 2

 Day 2 We head out really early in the AM. Went to Safe Way, got cheap cooler, Ice and some items for a picnic lunch.  It is chilly out, we have our jackets on. Then we head to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I've been there a couple of times before. Really needed to share it with the kids.  It never fails, they scare the crap out of me... We walk a ways on the trail, we meet a bunch of really nice people along the way. The Canyon is just beautiful, sun shining it's pretty spectacular  we work up an appetite  It ended up being another long day. Spent about 7 hours in the Canyon, then drove to Page. The Scenery on the Way to Page was incredible too.  Adam said.... "When you think it can't get any better it does" The weather has been great. Oh, we did notice that we all were a little winded ... the altitude was getting to us a bit.  We are all pretty exhausted . I believe we are going to stay an extra day/ night in Monument Valley. We shall see. ...

Day 5

Dan is feeling better. His knee hurts more than his head.   We ease into the day. Have breakfast at hotel. Then take a walk on the River walk in Durango.  It's really pretty here.  We pack up the car and head North on Route 550 AKA as the Million Dollar Highway.  I need to ride my motorcycle on this road for sure.  The Million Dollar Highway is a motorcycle road Bucket List for a lot of motorcyclists, including Me!  You'll understand why when you see the photos.   We did buy a bottle of Oxygen,  used it once.  As you can see we are getting out a lot to take photos!   It takes us almost 5 hours to complete the Million Dollar Highway... it's only 50 some miles long.... My motorcycle traveling buddy Lou said... "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree " when I told him how long it took us.  Can't wait to see Adam and Dan's pe...
